Bible Study Software, Websites, and Apps


The following is a list of helpful resources you can use to study your Bible and prepare for Sunday school or small group. We use Bible study software, websites, and apps to help us spend time diving deep into Scripture. These resources are not an end within themselves, but simply tools we can use to get to know God better through his Word. 

Software

E-Sword (http://www.e-sword.net/) - Free and easy to use, this download is a great way to study your Bible on a budget. 

Accordance Bible Software (http://www.accordancebible.com/) - A powerful study tool for MACs or PCs starting at $49.99. They also offer an iOS App

Bible Works (http://www.bibleworks.com/) - This tools is for academics wanting to study the original languages on their MACs or PCs. Their base price is $359.00.

Logos Bible Software (https://www.logos.com/) - This software works on PCs or MACs and is easy and intuitive. The base package starts at $294.95. Logos offers an iOS App.

PC Study Bible (http://www.biblesoft.com/new/) - Windows only Bible software that is reasonably competitive with Logos but starts at only $49.95.

Websites

Bible Gateway (http://www.biblegateway.com/) - Offers a lot of easily accessible translations in multiple languages along with the Reformation Study Bible and other commentaries, dictionaries, and encyclopedias. They also have an iOS app.

NET Bible Learning Environment (https://net.bible.org/) - Parallel windows between the New English Translation of the Bible and the NASB, Greek, Hebrew, and other helpful articles.

Biblia (http://biblia.com/) - Parallel windows between multiple versions of the Bible and a small library. Connected to Logos and Faithlife

Blue Letter Bible (http://www.blueletterbible.org/) - Has a variety of research tools including an interlinear, cross references, commentaries, dictionaries, and more.

Bible Study Tools (http://www.biblestudytools.com/) - Easy to use and offers a lot of commentaries, notes, and Bible Study aids.

Christian Classics Ethereal Library (http://www.ccel.org/study) - Use the Christian classics to study the Bible, including John Calvin and Matthew Henry’s commentaries for free.

Bible Hub (http://biblehub.com/) - Has many English translations along with Greek, Hebrew, commentaries, dictionaries, sermons, and devotionals.

Apps 

Olive Tree (http://www.olivetree.com/) - A free Bible Study App that offers in-store purchases. It works with the iPad, iPhone, Android, Mac, and Windows.

You Version (https://www.bible.com/) - Another popular ad-free Bible app that is easy to use and offers daily reading programs and downloadable translations.

Glo Bible (http://globible.com/) - A creative user interface that facilitates interactive Bible study across multiple platforms. 

Bible.is (http://www.bible.is/) - The Scriptures in a variety of languages on multiple platforms. 

Holy Bible (http://www.theholybibleapp.com/) - Easy to use Bible app with highlights and lots of different languages.
